Cindy’s New Year’s Resolutions

As we close in 2019 and look forward to 2020, I’m filled with positive thoughts for the year and new decade ahead. I love starting the New Year with fresh new goals – it provides me with feelings of positivity and purpose. I always make sure that my resolutions are realistic and achievable. I thought I’d share some of my resolutions for the year ahead.

I’ll Actively Support Our Local Economy

As a local female entrepreneur, I understand how important it is to have the support of people that believe in you and your vision. All local businesses count on our support to stay afloat and thrive. I’ve decided that whether I need to choose a location for dinner or purchase a gift for a friend – I’ll be turning to one of our local and independently owned businesses in our community.

I’ll Meditate More

My life tends to get extremely busy, and the more hectic things get, the more I want to turn to meditation. Meditation is the process of training your mind to focus and redirect your thoughts in a way that increases awareness of yourself and your surroundings. I personally find meditating an excellent way to put myself in a positive mood, improve self-discipline, and it helps me with better sleep (and we all need all the beauty sleep we can get).

I’ll Swim in Cold Water 5 Times a Week

Good thing that in the Southern Hemisphere the new year starts mid-summer, right? Jokes aside, there are SO many benefits of cold water swimming that simply can’t be ignored. Coldwater swimming boosts our endorphins (our body’s little pleasure drugs), increases our circulation, boosts our immune system, reduces stress, burns calories and even boosts libido (hello there).

I’ll Increase Self-Awareness to Improve Work Productivity

In 2020, I not only want to work harder – I want to work smarter. Did you know that our subconscious mind is responsible for about 90% of our decisions? Without self-awareness, we would not know our strengths, weaknesses and emotions; as an individual, I need to know exactly what drives my subconscious choices. I genuinely believe that to make positive changes in how I lead in the workplace – I need to know more about myself.

I’ll Drink Four Cups of Green Tea Daily

Instead of reaching for any sugar or preservative-filled drinks (put that coke down) – I want to increase my consumption of green tea. Green tea is loaded with antioxidants and nutrients that have incredible effects on our bodies. Green tea has the power to aid fat loss, improve brain function, lower risk of cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease Alzheimer’s and more!

Now that I’ve shared my top resolutions for 2020, I’d love to know if you’ll be taking on any of them yourself? I’d also love to know what some of YOUR resolutions are for the year ahead – please share below in the comments!
